Radical Honesty & R/evolutionary R/elating Trainer's Training

Led by Taber Shadburne, M.A., Creator of "R/evolutionary R/elating,"certified Master Trainer in Radical Honesty, & Founder of Church of Soul


This is a newly designed training, created for serious Radical Honesty practitioners who have attended at least one 8-day intensive workshop, and who are practicing Radical Honesty, earnestly, in their daily lives.

This training will help you take your personal practice of Radical Honesty and R/evolutionary R/elating to the next level, and, if you so desire, to use your skills effectively to help others, by coaching, counseling, teaching, facilitating honest conversations, resolving conflict, etc.

During this Training you will learn to understand the developmental path of the entire Radical Honesty curriculum, including:

  • Destroying the belief in Belief and rejecting the power of positive thinking.
  • Losing faith in the mind.

  • Finding faith in the body of Being and the power of compassionate Awareness.

  • Learning the distinction between noticing and thinking.

  • Gaining skill in noticing and navigating the entire awareness continuum.


  • Using awareness practice to “demythologize” your life and create your own story.

  • Using awareness practice and honest conversations to complete your emotional unfinished business, clear out the backlog, and clean up your karma.

  • Moving beyond coping with past pain & becoming always satisfied now.

  • Directing attention intentionally, in yourself and others.

  • Navigating the Awareness Continuum, in yourself and others.

  • Distinguish between the different modes of communicating such as: Descriptive, Interpretive, Evaluative, Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, Explicative and Poetic.

  • Teaching body awareness and naming of sensations.

  • Preparing people to have honest conversations with family, friends, etc.

  • Requesting and prefacing the clearing conversation.

  • Navigating the spectrum from “Consensual Honesty” to “Commando Honesty”.




Taber will answer questions on topics of interest, such as:

  • Dealing with resistance and triggers in yourself and clients.

  • Working with special issues (e.g., physical & sexual abuse, suicidal thinking, etc).

  • Professional boundaries... and the lack thereof…  :-)

Successful completion of a Radical Honesty  8-day workshop is a requirement for participating in this Trainer’s Training.  The Deep Dive held in Northern England in May 2018 counts towards this requirement. 

Also, you will be asked to commit to complete your unfinished business from your past prior to the training.

The early bird price is £2,500 (when the fee is fully paid by June 15, 2018); thereafter the regular price is £2,800. To book your spot, you are requested to make a £500 deposit upon signing up. Burnlaw Retreat Centre

The Burnlaw Retreat Centre, set in 40 acres of organic pastures, woodland and gardens in the beautiful North Pennine hills. We are lucky to have such a peaceful place to carry out this work and we’ll use both indoor and outdoor spaces as the weather allows. We will have sole use of a lovely stone built no-frills rustic cottage with a large light-filled roof top studio space with views over the countryside and a separate dining area and kitchen. Cozy simple bedrooms with two or three bunk-beds in each room are included in the price, as are all meals.

The Centre is approximately 50 minutes (36 miles) west from Newcastle, the local train station is Haydon Bridge. Newcastle airport connects 31 cities across Europe with direct flights. For those interested in an extended trip, Burnlaw is very well located to travel further North into Scotland and borders the Lake District and North Yorkshire Dales.


Getting There:
By Train: Ride to Newcastle (a large city in the North East of England), connecting to Haydon Bridge, a journey taking around 40 minutes (Haydon Bridge is the local station approximately 9 miles from Burnlaw). From there, you will be picked up and driven to Burnlaw, taking around 20 minutes.  

By Plane: Fly to Newcastle airport, which connects 31 cities across Europe. From the airport take the train to Haydon Bridge via Newcastle Metro and Newcastle stations, a journey taking around 1hr 15 minutes. From there, you will be picked up and driven to Burnlaw, taking around 20 minutes.  

By Car: Drive to Burnlaw centre (Whitfield, Northumberland, NE47 8HF). Parking is provided on site.

Arriving Early / Staying Late: 
If you want to arrive the day before and/or depart one day after the training ends, you can book those additional nights at the villa for an additional £25 per night. Note: during those periods outside of the actual training period, you'll be on your own for food.

Taber Shadburne is a cutting-edge counselor and teacher of transformation who has helped thousands of folks transform their lives and their relationships for over 25 years. 

He has led life-changing workshops in over 50 cities, in 15 countries, on four continents. He studied Zen for 10 years, lived and practiced at the Dharma Rain Zen Center, and has worked deeply with various spiritual teachers.  He has a B.A. in Music and Comparative Religion and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology.  He has worked closely with Dr. Brad Blanton for 20 years, and is the only person ever to be certified by Brad as a Master Trainer of Radical Honesty.  Taber co-authored a book, The Heart of Healing: Inspired Ideas, Wisdom and Comfort from Today's Leading Voices, with notables such as Deepak Chopra.
